BPS Global’s Lift Tower Construction Project for TWGHs Wong See Sum Primary School Nears Completion
11 Jun 2026
Lift Tower Construction Project for TWGHs Wong See Sum Primary School

The lift tower construction project for TWGHs Wong See Sum Primary School, undertaken by BPS Global Group, has entered its final stages and is approaching successful completion. This project encompasses the construction of a brand-new lift tower and lift lobbies, alongside the diversion and reinstatement of certain drainage pipelines. Upon completion, school staff will be able to travel quickly between floors via the lift and transport materials with ease. This will vastly improve on-campus mobility and significantly reduce the time and labour costs involved in moving goods.

Overcoming Harsh Campus Environments through Precise Project Scheduling

Construction officially commenced in Sep 2023, with full completion expected by the end of Jun 2026. To accommodate the school's daily operations — including internal examinations, parent-teacher meetings and major events like the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) examination — the engineering team proactively suspended disruptive construction works during critical periods. This ensured that school activities could proceed in a quiet and smooth environment.

Furthermore, the project faced considerable spatial and logistical constraints:

  • Narrow Construction Footprint: Space at the construction site was extremely limited, making it impossible to carry out multiple operations simultaneously and leaving insufficient room for material storage.
  • Restricted Use of Heavy Machinery: Materials and equipment could not be delivered directly using conventional large-scale machinery, which resulted in a longer overall construction period compared to typical projects.
  • All-Aerial Lifting Logistics Challenge: None of the construction materials could be transported through internal school pathways; instead, every single item had to be delivered via aerial lifting. To guarantee absolute personal safety, workers within the affected areas were required to suspend their work whenever lifting operations were underway.

Agile Adaptation and Close Collaboration Ensure Efficient Progress

To minimise the impact of these work suspensions, the BPS Global team demonstrated superb engineering scheduling capabilities. We conducted meticulous pre-planning for all construction tasks, ensuring that every procedure was seamlessly interconnected. This allowed us to utilise every second effectively within the cramped construction area.

A prime example is the installation of the lift tower's steel structure, which required on-site welding to ensure structural stability. To prevent massive steel components from taking up precious storage space on campus, the team precisely calculated and managed the logistics of the materials. This achieved a seamless workflow where "components were welded and installed immediately upon arrival at the site," ensuring that the overall project timeline remained entirely unobstructed.

Professionalism Creates Value

BPS Global Group has always adhered to a customer-first principle, tailoring the most flexible construction solutions to match differing site conditions and client needs. The smooth progress of this lift tower project perfectly showcases our rigorous management of construction workflows, as well as our agility in the face of complex challenges. Moving forward, we will continue to approach every project with professionalism and dedication, creating more convenient, comfortable and efficient spaces for our clients.
