Drive-in Racking
Features:
Drive-in racking is a racking system that is not separated by aisles. The continuous block of racking allows high density storage. Drive-in racking is suitable for storing a large amount of similar loads, especially for big lots of the same type of goods. With high utilization of space, this type of racking is relatively less costly for industries with expensive storage space, such as food and garments.
Structural Characteristics:
Drive-in racking offer the biggest storage with the smallest available space. It is particularly suitable for storing goods with standard units, and is widely used in industries with fast movement of a large amount but a small variety of goods. Goods can be placed or picked up from the same side, or retrieved according to the first-in-first-out requirements, stocking up from one side and picked up from the other. Drive-in racking is a commonly used high density racking, utilizing 50% more of space than ordinary pallet racking. It is suitable for small variety but large amount type of storage. The racking is usually for last-in-first-out storage and suitable for goods with high circulation. Forklifts drive in to the rack aisles to place or pick out pallets.
